How to leave an OnlyFans agency and switch without losing income

Most creators lose money when they switch, and it is almost never because of the new agency. It is the two weeks in between when nobody is posting, nobody is answering, and the old agency has stopped trying. Here is how to close that gap.

The short answer

To leave an OnlyFans agency: secure your login, email, 2FA and payout bank first; read the notice and exit clauses; give notice in writing with a date; keep posting and answering through the notice period; then switch access to the new team on the day the old one ends. Fair contracts allow this in 14 to 30 days for free.

If the agency holds your login or receives your payouts, recover the account through OnlyFans support before you say anything. Sable plans the handover around your notice so the page keeps selling the whole way through.

Before you say a word

Everything that goes wrong in a bad exit goes wrong because the agency still has access when it finds out you are leaving. So the first job is quiet.

  1. Log in and check you can. If you cannot, skip to if they will not let you leave.
  2. Change the password to one nobody has seen.
  3. Move 2FA to a phone only you hold.
  4. Check the email on the account is yours and that the recovery email and phone are yours.
  5. Check the payout details. The bank account OnlyFans pays should be yours. If it is not, change it now.
  6. Look at connected apps and team access in your account settings and in any management tool you were added to. Note what is there; you will remove it on the last day of notice, not today, so the page keeps running.
  7. Download your statements for every month with the agency. You will want them.

The five steps

  1. Read the contract. Find the term, the notice period, any exit fee, any post-term commission, and who owns the fan notes. Twenty minutes. Clause by clause, here.
  2. Pick the date. Count the notice period from the day you send it. That is handover day. Book the new team to start on it, not after it.
  3. Give notice in writing. Email, with the date, to the address in the contract. The letter below is enough. Do not explain, negotiate or argue in the same message.
  4. Run the notice period. Keep posting. Keep answering, or make sure someone is. Watch the statements. An agency that has been given notice often stops working; the contract says it must not, and your income depends on it.
  5. Hand over. On the day: remove the old agency from every tool and setting, change the password again, add the new team, and move the fan notes. Then check the payout bank one more time.

A notice letter you can copy

Subject: Notice to end management agreement

Hello [name],

This is my written notice to end our management agreement dated [date of contract], under clause [notice clause number]. The notice period of [X] days runs from today, [today’s date], so the agreement ends on [end date].

Until then I expect services to continue as agreed. On [end date] please remove all team access to my accounts and tools, send me an export of my fan notes, scripts and content vault, and confirm in writing that no further commission or fees are due.

Please reply to confirm receipt.

[Your name]

Send it from an email address you control, keep the sent copy, and if the contract names a postal address for notices, send it there too.

The handover checklist

WhenDo
Day you give noticePassword, 2FA, email, payout bank checked. Statements downloaded. Notice sent and copy kept. New team booked for the end date.
During noticePost daily. Replies covered. Weekly check of earnings against the previous month. Ask for the fan notes export in writing.
Handover dayRemove the agency from OnlyFans settings, the management tool, link pages, social accounts and any shared drives. New password again. Add the new team. Import fan notes. Confirm the payout bank.
Week afterCheck the first statement from the new team against the last one from the old. Confirm in writing that nothing more is owed. Keep every document for six years.

If they will not let you leave

  • They hold the login. Contact OnlyFans support from the email you registered with, prove your identity with the ID you verified with, and ask for the account to be secured. OnlyFans’ relationship is with you, not the agency, and its terms say so.
  • They receive your payouts. Change the payout details the moment you have access. Money that has already gone to them is a debt they owe you; ask for it in writing and keep the statements that show it.
  • They quote an exit fee or a long term. Give notice anyway. A contract can argue about money; it cannot stop you leaving. Very long exclusive deals signed without legal advice have been struck down in English courts as a restraint of trade. Get advice before paying.
  • They threaten you. Keep every message. The BBC’s 2026 investigation and the group claim announced in October 2026 both turn on this behaviour. You are not the first and you have options.
  • They go quiet and stop working. Note the dates and the earnings. If the contract makes you pay for a notice period they did not work, that is your evidence.

Will leaving hurt your income?

Switching does not. Gaps do. A page that stops posting for two weeks and leaves messages unanswered loses fans who do not come back, and most of the income dip people blame on switching happens there. The fix is boring: overlap the teams, keep posting, and make sure handover day is a Monday with both sides on it, not a Friday with neither.

How Sable runs a switch

  • You send us the contract when you apply. We find the notice and exit terms and plan the dates around them.
  • We start the 30-day plan on handover day, with access through management software you can switch off, never your password.
  • Your login, email, 2FA and payout bank stay yours. We check all four with you on day one.
  • Fan notes come with you if you can get them; if not, we rebuild the ones that matter from your chat history in the first week.
  • Month to month, 14 days’ notice, no exit fee. If we do not earn our place, the next switch is as easy as this one.

The switching page has the short version. Apply when you are ready, and tell us what the contract says.

Questions people ask

How much notice do I have to give an OnlyFans agency?

Whatever the contract says. 14 to 30 days is fair and common in good contracts; 90 days or a fixed term of six to twelve months is common in bad ones. Give it in writing, with a date, and keep a copy. If the contract has no notice clause, a reasonable period, usually 30 days, applies.

Can I leave an OnlyFans agency without penalty?

If the contract has no exit fee and you give the notice it asks for, yes. If it has an exit fee, you can still leave, but they may try to claim it. Very long exclusive deals signed without legal advice have been found unenforceable in English courts as a restraint of trade, so get advice before paying anything.

What if my agency will not let me leave?

Secure the account, give notice in writing anyway, and keep evidence of everything. If they hold the login, recover it through OnlyFans support with your ID. If they are receiving your payouts, change the payout details the moment you have access. If money is taken, report it. A contract cannot stop you giving notice; it can only argue about what you owe.

How do I get my OnlyFans account access back from an agency?

If you can log in: new password, 2FA on your own device, your own email on the account, check the payout bank. If you cannot: contact OnlyFans support from the email you registered with, prove your identity with the ID you verified with, and ask for the account to be secured. Then do the four steps above.

Will switching agencies hurt my income?

Only if there is a gap. Income falls when posting stops and messages go unanswered for a fortnight. Line up the new team to start the day the old one finishes, keep posting yourself during notice, and the switch itself costs nothing.

Can I take my fan notes and scripts with me?

If the contract says they are yours, yes, and you should ask for an export. If it says nothing, ask anyway; many agencies hand them over. If they refuse, a good team rebuilds the notes that matter from your chat history in about a week.
