Can I leave an OnlyFans agency without a penalty?

Yes, if the contract is month to month with no exit fee, which is what a fair one looks like: you give the notice it asks for, 14 to 30 days, in writing, and owe nothing after the end date. If you signed a fixed term of six to twelve months with an exit fee or commission after you leave, you can still leave; the agency can only argue about money, and very long exclusive deals signed without legal advice have been found unenforceable in English courts as a restraint of trade.

The short answer

You can leave any OnlyFans agency; the only question is what, if anything, you owe. On a month-to-month contract with no exit fee, nothing: give the notice it asks for in writing and the deal ends on the date you name. On a fixed term with an exit fee or post-term commission, the agency can claim money, not keep you, and clauses that lock a creator in for years without legal advice have been struck down in England as a restraint of trade.

Sable is month to month with 14 days’ notice, no exit fee and no commission after you leave, and you can disconnect the software yourself.

What does your contract’s termination clause actually say?

Find four things and write them down: the term (month to month, or a fixed number of months), the notice period, any fee for ending early, and any share the agency keeps after you have gone. Those four lines decide the answer. Everything else in the contract is about what happens while you stay.

The clause saysWhat you owe to leave
Month to month, 14 to 30 days’ notice, no exit fee, no post-term shareNothing. Give notice in writing and leave on the date.
Fixed term of 6 to 12 months, no exit feeNothing in money, but the agency can argue you must see out the term. Give notice anyway and keep the evidence of its performance.
Any term, with an early termination feeThe fee, if it is a fair estimate of the agency’s loss. A fee that looks like a punishment can be challenged.
Post-term commission on fans gained during the contractA share of your future income, for as long as the clause says. The most expensive line in any agency contract; get advice before accepting it.
No termination clause at allA reasonable notice period, usually taken as 30 days, and nothing else.

How much notice do you have to give an OnlyFans agency?

Whatever the contract says, counted from the day you send it. Fourteen to thirty days is fair, and it is what agencies that publish their terms use: Sable and TalentGrow at 14 days, Aruna Talent at 30. Ninety days, or notice that can only be given at the end of a fixed term, is a lock-in by another name. Send notice by email to the address in the contract, with a date, and keep the sent copy; if the contract names a postal address for notices, send it there too.

What is an early termination fee, and do you have to pay it?

A fixed sum the contract charges for ending before the term is up. Under English law a fee like this has to be a genuine pre-estimate of the other side’s loss, or protect a legitimate interest, to be enforceable; a sum designed to frighten you into staying is a penalty and courts will not enforce it. An agency that keeps working during your notice has no loss to recover, and an agency that stopped working the day you gave notice has a problem of its own. Do not pay an exit fee on the day you are asked. Ask for the clause, ask how the figure was calculated, and get advice.

Can an agency keep taking commission after you leave?

Only if you signed a clause that says so, and only for what it says: a percentage of income from fans gained during the contract, for a stated number of months, or sometimes with no end. It is the clause that turns a 40% deal into one you cannot afford to end, because the share keeps coming out of a page the agency no longer works on. Fair contracts end the share when the notice period ends. If you have one of these clauses, a solicitor’s letter is cheap next to a year of commission.

Mid-contract: can you switch without losing your fans, notes and data?

Your fans are on your page and your page is in your name, so they come with you whatever the contract says. The things you can lose are the fan notes, the scripts and the message history inside the agency’s tool, and two weeks of income if nobody is posting or answering between the old team and the new one. So: ask for an export of the notes in your notice email, book the new team to start on the end date rather than after it, and keep posting yourself through the notice period. The switching guide has the day-by-day checklist.

What if the agency holds your login or your payouts?

Secure the account before you say a word. If you can log in: new password, 2FA on your own phone, your email on the account, the payout bank checked and corrected. If you cannot: contact OnlyFans support from the email you registered with, prove who you are with the ID you verified with, and ask for the account to be secured; the platform’s relationship is with you. Money that already went to the agency’s bank is a debt it owes you. Ask for it in writing with the statements that show it. What agencies do with passwords and payouts, and how to get both back, is here.

When is it worth paying a solicitor?

When the contract has a post-term commission clause, an exit fee above a few hundred pounds, or a fixed term of a year or more that you signed without advice. One letter from a solicitor who has read the contract costs far less than any of those, and the case law is on your side: in Proactive Sports Management v Rooney, the Court of Appeal held an eight-year exclusive representation agreement unenforceable as a restraint of trade because it was signed without independent advice and went far beyond what the agency needed. OnlyFans agency contracts with years of lock-in and post-term commission have the same shape.

How to give notice: a letter you can copy

Subject: Notice to end management agreement

Hello [name],

This is my written notice to end our management agreement dated [date of contract], under clause [notice clause number]. The notice period of [X] days runs from today, [today’s date], so the agreement ends on [end date].

Until then I expect services to continue as agreed. On [end date] please remove all team access to my accounts and tools, send me an export of my fan notes, scripts and content vault, and confirm in writing that no further commission or fees are due.

Please reply to confirm receipt.

[Your name]

Do not explain, negotiate or argue in the same message. If the agency replies with a fee, ask for the clause and how the figure was calculated, and take that to a solicitor if the sum is worth it.

What Sable’s exit terms are

  • Month to month from day one. 14 days’ notice, in writing.
  • No exit fee, no buyout, no share of anything you earn after the notice period ends, including from fans gained while you were with us.
  • You can disconnect the management software yourself; we never had your password, email, 2FA or bank.
  • Fan notes and scripts built on your page are exported to you when you go.
  • Coming from another agency? Send us the contract when you apply. We find the notice and exit terms and plan the handover around them, so the page keeps selling through the switch. How a switch runs is here.

Questions people ask

Can I leave an OnlyFans agency without penalty?

If the contract has no exit fee and you give the notice it asks for, yes. If it has an exit fee, you can still leave, but the agency may try to claim the fee. Read the clause, give notice in writing anyway, and get advice before paying anything: very long exclusive deals signed without legal advice have been found unenforceable in English courts.

How much notice do I have to give an OnlyFans agency?

Whatever the contract says. 14 to 30 days is fair and common in good contracts; 90 days or a fixed term of six to twelve months is common in bad ones. If the contract has no notice clause at all, a reasonable period applies, usually taken as 30 days. Send it in writing with a date and keep a copy.

Can an agency charge me for leaving early?

Only if the contract says so and the fee is a genuine estimate of what the agency loses, not a punishment. A fee far above the agency's real loss can be challenged as a penalty under English law. An agency that keeps working during your notice period has no loss to recover.

Can an agency keep taking a cut after I leave?

Only if you signed a post-term commission clause, and even then only for what the clause says. Fair contracts end the share when the notice period ends. If yours does not, the clause is worth a solicitor's letter, because the sum involved is every month of your income from then on.

Will I lose my subscribers if I leave an agency?

No. Subscribers follow your page, not the agency, and the page is in your name. What you can lose is the fan notes and scripts if the contract makes them the agency's property, and income during a gap in posting and replies. Ask for the notes in writing and overlap the old team's last day with the new one's first.

What if the agency ignores my notice?

The notice still counts from the day you sent it. Keep the sent copy, keep posting and answering through the period, then remove the agency's access on the end date. Its silence does not extend the contract.
